When _The Observer_ visited Steiner Studios earlier this year for a profile of
the film production facility's founder Doug Steiner, we all dropped by Terence
Winter's office on the third floor of the 20-acre complex's main stages. It is
there that each episode of _Boardwalk Empire_ is painstakingly crafted by the
former _Sopranos_ writer, now showrunner.

Mr. Winter's office is packed with paraphernalia from his past and the real
past. Two huge _Boardwalk Empire_ posters, one in Korean, one in Czech, frame
a flat-screen TV. On the facing wall, a _Mad_ magazine poster of _The
Sopranos_ hangs, signed by the entire cast; "Fuck you. -James Gandolfini" it
says next to a caricature of the actor, who felt the artists made him look
especially fat. Two plates hang nearby: a commemorative one of _The
Honeymooners_, a favorite of Mr. Winter's growing up, and a dinner plate from
the original Calissimo's restaurant in Chicago. It was actually used in the
first episode of _Boardwalk_, in the scene where Al Capone shoots Jim

How can I dress designer but avoiding new look and primark?

I cant afford designer but Im a bit of a clothes snob and hate primark and next and other such paces. I usually get things that are 'classic' e.e. black jacket, beige bag but then I end up looking old and not trendy. Any ideas?

never shop from the same place for your whole outfit, a tip from me, always have a classic pair of jeans, classic short denim skirt, and a CLASSY black skirt. that will do the job, then just go out n get really fancy tops different for each occasion. never try to over do it coz it goes wrong, something that my eyes goes straight to when im checkin someones style is the SHOES and the BAG, so make sure they r classy and not cheap-looking!
