I need someone who can look at a crochet piece and tell me the pattern or roughly what I need to do.?

Can you click on that link and look at all the angles to see if you know the pattern? It's my first time crocheting but if I know the pattern, I can ask a friend to show me how to. I really like the one in that picture but I don't want to buy it; I want to make it. Please help me.
So the whole piece is double crochet? Do you know the hood? The beginning of the hood? It looks different from the rest of the scarf. Why? Is that a different stitch or did the person use a larger needle to make it look poofy and raised.

It is double crochet, except that some of the stitches at the front are manipulated to create the illusion of ribbing. It's still double crochet but probably worked around the posts (first video clip below) instead of through the stitches.

A hooded scarf is basically just an extra long scarf where the middle is joined for about ten inches on one edge to create the back of the hood. There are more complicated variations, but the basic approach would make if quite doable for a first project.
