Is it possible to train a jack russell puppy to get along with cats?

I am thinking of getting a jack russell puppy but already have a cat. Can I send the puppy to a trainer to get him trained to be nice to our cat? If not, which of these breeds gets along with cats the best?:
Beagle
Jack Russell
Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen
Jack Russell Chihuahua cross

He will be a puppy right. He will do fine with a cat. I would be more worried about the cat then the puppy not getting along. I am sure the first few days your cat will hiss and hide and swat at the puppy then they will find their spots on the totem pole and be fine.As far as the other breeds dogs usually do fine with cats if the are raised with them. You do understand the breeds you are thinking about getting right. Jacks are one of our most popular breeds at the shelter I work at. They are very HIGH ENERGY dogs!!!! The same with the jack mix you are speaking of. THe jacks need lots of space to run and play they may be small but do not let that fool you they need exercise!!!!!
