The Trayvon Martin tragedy has affected all Americans; from parents concerned
about the treatment of young black men in this country to teenagers who are
standing up for their right to wear what they want and be able walk through
any neighborhood holding a bag of candy and a bottle of ice tea.

We've seen the Instagram community show their support of the fallen 17-year-
old, and Million Hoodie Marches continue to bring politically active teens
together. Artists have also been weighing in. Philadelphia-based photographer
Zoe Strauss wrote on her blog, "I am a small, white, 41 year old woman who
wears a hoodie and jeans all the time. Could I be murdered by 'neighborhood
watch' and have people question my outfit and say it was a factor in
instigating someone to murder me?"

We've been particularly interested in the posters that have sprung up lately
in support of Trayvon, because we see this as a great way to get a message out

Just to be sure... I can carry with me on the airplane...?

To quote the TSA website:
"You may carry one (1) bag of photographic equipment in addition to one (1) carry-on and one (1) personal item through the screening checkpoint. The additional bag must conform to your air carrier's carry-on restrictions for size and weight. Please confirm your air carrier's restrictions prior to arriving at the airport."

SO!

Yes or no, I can bring:

1- Standard size 'Carry On' piece of luggage.
AND
1- Medium sized Women's purse.
AND
1- SLR sized camera bag.

I won't be checking any baggage so I want to make SURE that this is OK what I'm bringing. Thank you!

I'm asking because on almost all other website I see it says that technically a photo bag counts as your personal item but what I quoted above says different, no?

The screening checkpoint and the airline have different rules. So you may not be able to get on the plane with three pieces, sometimes you have to cram one of the pieces into one of the other two. My advice would be to bring a relatively large purse so that you could put your SLR in there if you had to.
Sometimes the same airline will let everyone get on board with everything one time, and then another time will enforce a two-piece maximum, especially if the plane is very full or if many people have gifts or something that takes up lots of space.
