How can i remove a plastic bag off a stove that does not have burners on the top, like a corningware type?

My granddaugher just set a plastic bag from some taco shells on the top of a hot burner on my smooth top stove. Any idea how i can remove it?
Will this hurt the top of stove if I use a razor blade like you suggest?

you need to let it harden then scrape it with a razor blade. i have done this with tupperware, and all sorts of plastic containers.
