that you affix to a matrix by means of velcro. It sounds great in theory, but
is horrible to use in practice; the velcro has a tendency to stick when you're
trying to adjust or remove it, quickly turning your reconfiguration into a

A Denver-based startup called TrekPak has designed a better system of user-
configurable gear protection. TrekPak's velcro-free padded sections use simple
U-shaped pins and exposed sidewalls as connection points:
