Tampa Bay Rays beat Texas Rangers 5-2 to remain in tie for first (St. Petersburg Times)

Price described it as having a piano on his back. Consider it lifted. Price was impressive over 6 1/3 innings, lifting the Rays to a 5-2 victory in front of an ESPN _Sunday Night Baseball _audience. Tampa Bay (14-8) has won seven of its last eight and is tied for first place in the AL East, having taken a series from the red-hot Rangers, who had the best record in baseball. It wasn't easy, as the Rangers made Sunday's game interesting in the ninth, loading the bases with two outs for Ian Kinsler. But Rays reliever Fernando Rodney finished it off, racking up his seventh save in seven tries. That gave Price (4-1) a club-record matching four April wins, including his first over the Rangers. Did a retired red sox baseball player die yesterday?

It was John Marzano, a former back up catcher. He apparently had a heart attack, but I think the official cause of death was the fall. He died satuday. here's a link: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=mlb&id=3354653 Marzano was only 45. Apparently this runs in the family, as his father died young from heart problems. Too bad. While he wasn't a Varitek or Fisk on the field, everyone seems to have loved this guy.
