Americans' Spending On Medicines Rose To $320 Billion Last Year: Report (Huffington post)

April 4 (Reuters) - A raft of new medicines pushed U.S. spending on drugs
modestly higher last year, but the gains were curbed by weak prescription use
as Americans avoided doctor visits, according to a report released on
Wednesday.

Overall U.S. spending on medicines reached $320 billion in 2011, up 3.7
percent from 2010, according to the report from IMS Health, a healthcare
information and services company. The increase was just 0.5 percent on a per
capita basis.

Prescription use fell 1.1 percent nationally on a per capita basis, the report
said. Patient office visits declined by 4.7 percent overall.

"This is a continued effect of the last five years of economic challenges and
the continuing pressure by shifting costs in terms of rising insurance
premiums, rising co-pays both for visits and for medicines," said Michael
Kleinrock, director of research development for the IMS Institute of
Healthcare Informatics.

"We've reached a tipping point where patients will actually take that
increased cost and use less medicine," Kleinrock said.

The elderly, in particular, used fewer medicines last year. Prescriptions for
Americans 65 and older fell 3.1 percent on a per capita basis, according to

First, use the clone tool to get rid of blemishes. Hold down the control key and click in a spot near the blemish to select that (you will probably want to zoom in) then click on the blemish and it should disappear. Do that with all visible blemishes.

Then select around the face and skin (try to make the best selection you can, and it's better to extend into the background than to not have all the skin selected) then feather it maybe 3-5 pixels. Then you can play with the hue/saturation to get the color you want (unless it's already okay). To make it look tanner, decrease the brightness and saturation slightly.

Keep the same selection around the skin. Then use the dropper tool to select a color from the skin (usually around the cheeks or forehead is a good place). You can adjust this color if you want it pinker, lighter, darker, more saturated, etc. Then make a new transparent layer. Use the airbrush tool to airbrush all over the face (no need to stay in the lines). Then adjust the layer opacity so it's more subtle.

Finally, going back to the background layer, do a gaussian blur, but not too much, 3-5 pixels maximum, depending on the image size.

And remember, less is more. You don't want people to think it's fake. The point is to improve what's there, not make it perfect. Good luck.
