Could Trayvon Martin case mar Sanford's image? (local6)

As thousands descend on the small central Florida city, civil rights leaders
warn Sanford could become infamous for injustice in the Trayvon Martin case.

In his comments to the city commission Monday, the Reverend Al Sharpton said,
"You are risking going down as the Birmingham and Selma of the 21st century.
You are making the world know you as a place of racial intolerance and double
standards."

Not long after, the Reverend Jesse Jackson mirrored that sentiment and said,
"America is on trial today. The whole world is watching Sanford, not your
beaches. The whole world is watching Sanford today."

Last week, the city sent out a news release saying downtown is open for
business. It came after several stores there worried how these rallies might
effect the town. But some, like Christo's, have tried to put a positive spin
on a difficult situation.

"We don't want anybody coming to town and leaving with a bad taste in their
