Testing sending and receiving of trackbacks on WordPress 2.0.1
Trackbacks revisited.
Okay, we’ve already discovered that the auto-notify feature isn’t working properly to send a single trackback ping to any article you reference in a wordpress 2.0.1 post.
But what about those that you manually send (and receive)?
First I’ll try this w/o actually linking to any articles, so there won’t be any issues stemming from the auto-notify feature. Once we get those results, I’m going to try to see what happens when both auto-pinging and manual trackbacks are attempted….
In Round 1, we’ll be sending manual trackbacks to a wordpress 1.5.2 blog, a typepad blog, a wordpress.com blog, a wordpress 2.0.1 blog, and wordpress 2.0 blog, and I’ll also test the receiving of a trackback from each of those same posts.
The results of Round 1 are 100% positive
All trackbacks manually sent from wordpress 2.0.1 were properly received by wordpress 1.5.2, typepad, wordpress.com, wordpress 2.0.1, and wordpress 2.0 blogs. Conversely, trackbacks sent from each of those blogs were also properly received by this post on wordpress 2.0.1.
