What are loan options for someone studying abroad in Europe, needing travel money?
I am going to be travelling to Europe to study abroad in 08-09. I have tuition/housing loans taken care of, but I need money for travelling (weekend trips) and basic expenses (just the adding up of museums/tours/food/progra... As I will be gone for almost 10 months, I will need a deferred loan. I will go with about $4,000 but will need a total of $14,000 for the entire school year, so I need $10,000. I will take a series of loans, or if you know of scholarships for this situation I would really appreciate more information.
I don't think I will be able to work during my time abroad unless it is "under the table," since getting work permits and a job is difficult (unless you know otherwise, then do explain).

As far as I know, there is nothing that will fund a person without a job to vacation, and that's essentially what you're asking for.

You might want to reallocate your funds (if you can) to pay yourself for the travelling and try to get the loans based on housing or tuition needs. If you can't, I don't see any options for you, nobody loans money to unemployed people EXCEPT for education, and this doesn't qualify.
