How to make a newspaper purse?

I need directions on how to make a newspaper purse... such as these:

The first and third bags look like the newspaper has been folded into strips t hat have been woven. The second one looks like it was twisted to give the texture.

I would recommend experimenting some. Basket weaving skills might come in handy here. After all, the materials are cheap and easy to come by. It also looks like the second bag was treated with a coat of varnish to protect it. This would definitely be a project that would need it.

Another way to go would be to put layers of newspaper in between two sheets of vinyl (you could even use clippings). There are some products that allow you to iron these in place. Then you could stitch them into a bag just like any other bag pattern.
